The combined global land and ocean surface temperature was the second warmest September on record, according to NOAA’s National Climatic Data Center in Asheville, N.C. This is based on records going all the way bck to the 1880's. from the National Climatic Data Center. NCDC scientists also reported that the average land surface temperature for September was the second warmest on record, behind 2005. Additionally, the global ocean surface temperature was tied for the fifth warmest on record for September. Some factual data includes the combined global land and ocean surface temperature, which was 1.12 degrees F above the 20th century average of 59.0 degrees F and the global land surface temperature was 1.75 degrees F above the 20th century average of 53.6 degrees F.
These are not comforting statements and data, becuase this shows us global warming is getting closer progressively. I feel as if we used different environmental ideas and tools to help the global land and ocean surface tempatures. As NCDC reported about these tempertures being second highest for Semptember ever, is quite shocking and makes me want to help change this conflict.

With statistics such as these, I do not understand how there are people who are skeptical that global warming even exists. Even with all of the "green efforts" being spoken of, overall our society is in denial of the effects of our lifestyles on the climate. These stats need to be more publicized so Americans can wake up and realize that our habits are detrimental to the environment.
