Final Assignment

Living Sustainably means that we will use the earth's natural resources in sucha way that we do not over use, contaminate, or destrory these resources. This can be a difficult way to live especially in todays world.
This is a picture of the Ganges River in India. It is one of the most polluted river in the world. This is an excellent example of how pollution can affect millions of people. It also shows the poverty of the region. If a river this polluted was in a more developed country, they would most likely clean it up. I think that this picture is a great eye opener into how easily a place can get polluted.

Again pollution is a major problem for living sustainably. This picture shows only a fraction of the cars in a city. Each car produces greenhouse gases when they are used. More specifically CO2. Imagine how many cars there are in the world, each one emmiting CO2 when people drive. CO2 along with other greenhouse gases deplete the ozone layer in .the atmosphere In an increasingly developed world, more people in more countries are useing cars as a means of transportation. One of the most interesting things we did in class was dicuss possible ways of reducing greenhouse emmissions. Nearly everyone in the class agreed that automobiles were one of the top problems in todays world. I believe that one of the main challenges facing the world is finding an alternative fuel source.

This a picture of Nagasaki, Japan, both before and after the atomic bombing in WWII. We didnt really talk about this in class, but i thought that this was a cool picture. This shows the destructive power of humans and how easily we can misunderstand our own power. Through the years humans have been slowly gaining more and more power and today we have more than ever. Along with deforestation, overfishing, and pollution, humans have this new force that is stronger than ever that gives us a new liabilty.
